I spent the majority of the last two months working and doing school work; During which I bought a lot of magazines that I never had the time to scan in. So mostly, I'll be spending these couple of weeks archiving and scanning. I'll have time to work on "the other website" as well, and being the crazy bitch that I am... Yes. I am plotting ANOTHER website for ANOTHER manga/live-action series type-of-thing (Anyone wanna take a cheap guess at what series I'm talking about...?) Anyhow, its going to be a busy summer. I love it already! =D All you survivors of finals week, congrats to you! Contest Submission Thread

Hey everyone! "NANA Day" is fast approaching and it is going to be a big day this year! Not in a hundred years, will there be another day quite like 07/07/07, so we're gonna celebrate it with style! And what better way to kick it off, than with a contest that the whole "NANA" fan community can participate in...?

The objective of this contest is to create a "NANA Holiday" card: A gift which can be given to anyone during one of your favorite holidays. Make a card for Christmas, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, or any others you can think of. Birthday cards are cool too! But the card MUST feature elements from "NANA."

Contest Rules & Details

1.) You can use images from the "NANA" movie, anime, manga, or your own drawn fanart. If you want to use someone else's fanart, be sure to obtain their permission first.

2.) The card can be funny, cute, romantic, silly, serious, etc. BUT IT CANNOT BE MEAN...!!

3.) The card must be 4 inches in width and 7 inches in height.

4.) However detailed you want to make it is up to you. You can design just the front of the card, or the whole card including the inside and the back. Do whatever it is that you think will benefit your design the most.

5.) You can use Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, InDesign, Paint Shop Pro, or any other graphic design or page layout programs that you have at your disposal. Entries can also be hand drawn and/or hand colored, but they must be scanned in to be submitted.

6.) Everyone is allowed to submit only ONE entry.

7.) There will be a special thread in the forum dedicated to this contest, and that is where you will post your submission. (This is the thread.) That means if you do not currently have an account on the forum, you must make one to enter. The thread will be closed off on the day of the deadline. Do not try to e-mail your late submission, as they will not be accepted. This is the only way to ensure that submissions don't accidentally get filtered off as spam in my inbox. Plus, if you would like to go back and change or update your submission, you can go back and do it at your own leisure. Be sure to host your image at a place that will display the image through the duration of the contest. I am not responsible if your image host goes down at the last minute.

8.) No plagiarism will be tolerated. All plagiarized entries will be disqualified. No stealing quotes from Hallmark or other card companies. The message(s) on the card must be thought up completely by you.

9.) All entries become the property of NANA-NANA.net, and will be added to the Image Gallery.

10.) The contest will be open until June 20th 2007. After the deadline, a poll will be put up for NANA-NANA.net's site visitors to vote for the winners.

11.) There will be 5 winners, who will be contacted by e-mail. The prizes will be sent out sometime during the summer.

12.) The winners get to pick their choice of a prize. First place winner will be contacted first, and be the first to pick one prize packet, out of the 5 prize packets. Second place winner get contacted next and gets the second pick of the remaining 4 prize packets... and so on. (5th place winner won't get a choice of prize.)

13.) Rules may be revised or added on later, depending if there are any odd situations that come up.

I highly encourage everyone to enter the "NANA Holiday Contest." ^__^ Its really fun to make a card. Some of you may not think you have artist talent, but sometimes wit and courage is really important in making a card too! I mean... o___o Look what I made in two minutes... You have NO idea how many types of these cards I receive every year during my birthday... Remember, people are voting for the card that they like the most. People buy silly cards, romantic cards, pretty cards, or just plain dumb cards a LOT. So you should not feel discourage about not being that great with art. Be smart! ^___^ Have fun with this.

Oh, I've gotten some pretty good questions so far, so I'm going to answer them right here. It may help some of you!

Question ) Is it okay to use pictures from your website to create a card?
Answer ) You can use any picture that's somehow related to "NANA" to create a card.

Question ) I was just wondering if participants also have the option of making a 'Greeting' or 'Get Well' card and not only a holiday related card; as I myself don't celebrate those holidays.
Answer ) I'm not going to ask you to participate in something that you don't believe in. So if you like, a greeting or a get well card is cool too! Go ahead!

Question ) Can we use quotes from the anime/manga?
Answer ) =) THAT, you can. Go for it!

Question ) By one entry do you mean by one card or one set of cards?
Answer ) The contest clearly states your entry is one card, not a set of cards. If you designed more than one card, you have to decide which one you want to submit for the contest.
